Treasure Island

A lively beach town featuring a diverse panoply of resorts, condominiums, private estates, and beachside cabanas, Treasure Island does its name justice. Located on a barrier island between the Gulf of Mexico and the Intracoastal Waterway, Treasure Island is just 8 miles due west from St. Petersburg, easily accessible by car via both the Corey Causeway and the Treasure Island Causeway.

Treasure Island is a beachgoer’s paradise with over three miles of oceanfront property, white sand, surf, and tropical waters on the Gulf of Mexico. The South Beach Scenic Boardwalk affords visitors an excellent pathway for inline rollerblading, bicycles, and longboards. Nearby John’s Pass has daily entertainment, live music, big-screen streamed sporting events, and a diverse menu at several locally owned bars and restaurants.

From the Shake Shop to the Sand Pebble Resort, Sloppy Joe’s on the Beach to Sea Dog Brewing, Treasure Island has a resort, restaurant, bar, or cafe for every taste and interest. And for locals, a centrally-located Publix Super Market affords easy grocery shopping without having to cross one of the city’s bridges to the mainland. Right on the island locals can find the Freedom Boat Club for an excellent yacht club experience. John’s Pass Marina is also nearby and offers many amenities. Treasure Bay Golf and Tennis, conveniently located on Treasure Island, is one of the only golf courses located on the many barrier islands dotting the Intracoastal Waterway.

Treasure Island city planners and civic leaders are committed to making their island home Pinellas County’s most popular destination. As a result, the comfortable beach town hosts frequent gatherings, including nationally recognized events like the Annual ‘Sanding Ovations’ Master Cup. This event involves artists from across the nation gathering on Treasure Island to create stunning sculptures out of the sand. The city has an interactive event calendar so residents and visitors can stay up-to-date.
